A little about Me. Full exposure, my journey to becoming a Face Yoga Teacher.

In my 20’s I had a whole lot to learn!

As I sit here scribbling away, I'm a ripe old age of 49. Let me take you back to my early 20s, where the real adventure began. Back then, I was a hairdresser in some beautiful salons, surrounded by stunning beauty therapists. I was always on the lookout for the latest and greatest skin care products, trying out facials and treatments like it was my job (well, it kinda was).

I was a bit of a product addict. But that was just a harmless little quirk, right? I mean, who doesn't love a new product? But despite my love for skincare, I wasn't exactly the poster child for healthy living. I'd skip meals or wolf down junk food in a rush before my next client. I'd work long hours, party hard on the weekends, and barely get any sleep. And don't even get me started on my sunbed obsession. I wanted to look like my olive-skinned friend so bad that I'd hit up the tanning bed regularly, but all I got was a fiery red glow.

But the real kicker? My battle with self-doubt and insecurity. I believed every negative thought my mind came up with, and I was always seeking validation from others. I felt like I wasn't enough, like I didn't measure up. And those feelings led to some dark times, including struggles with an eating disorder.

Looking back on it now, I realize that those insecurities were all in my head. They were just made-up stories that I told myself. And I'm proud to say that I've come a long way since then. I've learned the power of positive thinking, and how it can change everything. I've embraced the mind-body connection and made it my mission to work towards a healthy mind and body.

So yeah, I may have started out as a caterpillar, but I've transformed into a butterfly. And let me tell you, flying is a whole lot better than crawling.
let me tell you about the life of this butterfly! So, this caterpillar thought she had it all figured out, I got married at 29 after being with my long term boyfriend on and off since I was 19. But things took a turn when I spread my wings and got divorced at 32. Suddenly, I was single for the first time in my adult life, but like a true butterfly, after some transition, I embraced the change and flew towards new beginnings

The 30s were a wild ride for this winged wonder! I was living my best life, discovering who I was, dating and trying new things, while also learning important life lessons. And wouldn't you know it, at 35 I met the man of my dreams! He swept me off my feet and soon after, this butterfly became a momma at 37! What a blessing indeed, my daughter is an absolute ray of sunshine, I learn from her.

Through all these changes and challenges, this butterfly transformed into a more confident and self-assured version of herself. I learned to spread my wings and nervously fly towards the unknown, taking risks and enjoying all the fun times along the way. It just goes to show that life is full of surprises and we never know what beautiful transformations may lie ahead!

So, in the diet and exercise department, this leading lady was quite the mixed bag. As a single gal, I sometimes treated my body like a trash can, but when motherhood came knocking, I got my act together and started making healthier choices. Of course, I still indulged in some well-deserved facials, because let's face it, glowing skin is a must-have accessory!

Nowadays, this girl is all about that faux glow, and boy do I take sun safety seriously. I'm practically the queen of sunscreen, which is a royal decree we can all get behind.

But let's be real, ladies. When it comes to taking care of ourselves, we often learn the hard way. For this heroine, it was a case of feeling the burn, literally. I noticed that when I didn't give my body the TLC it deserved, my mind and body would go haywire, causing migraines, stomach pains, fatigue, and all-around crankiness. Oof, what a recipe for disaster!

But like a true boss, I took charge of my health and wellbeing, and now I'm feeling better than ever. So, to all the naysayers who think that self-care is just a buzzword, take note, because I am living proof that it's the real deal.

Heading into my 40's

In my early 40s, I became a renovation queen! My husband and I tackled a fixer-upper house and transformed it into a beautiful home with a stunning garden studio, which I turned into my very own hair salon. I finally took the plunge and opened my own boutique salon, where I could make my own rules and connect with my clients on a deeper level. It was exhilarating!

But life had a surprise for us - my husband was offered an opportunity to work in the USA! We decided to take the plunge and embrace this new adventure with open arms. We've been living in Maryland for three and a half years now, but it feels like it's flown by. Covid hit soon after we arrived, and my daughter had to school from home for a year and a half. But we've made the most of it, and my husband now works from home, which means we have more time to explore our new home and make even more unforgettable memories.

It's been quite a journey. From closing my salon and moving to the US. During Covid, I found myself with time to spare I rekindled an old love for running, and decided to dive into subjects that interested me, like child psychology, mental wellbeing, skincare, and meditation. I hit the jackpot when you stumbled upon face yoga! With the onset of perimenopause and menopause, I I hit a low point and my confidence took more of a nose dive when I noticed sudden changes in my skin and appearance. But after incorporating face yoga into my daily routine, I saw a positive transformation, leaving me with softer skin, fewer lines, and a newfound sense of relaxation and calm.

Intrigued by the power of face yoga, I took it upon yourself to become a certified and fully accredited Face Yoga teacher of the Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method. It's amazing how again this challenging time turned into another opportunity for growth and self-discovery. I have truly found my purpose, and love empowering other women to look and feel amazing!

Welcome to this exciting chapter of my life! I have discovered my passion for face yoga, and it has become my mission to share this empowering practice with other women. As a face yoga teacher, I have the privilege of passing on these techniques to help lift and firm their skin, reduce stress, and promote self-love and confidence.

I believe that beauty comes from within, and that's why I emphasize the importance of a holistic approach to self-care. Eating well, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, exercise and managing stress are all important components of looking and feeling our best. And of course, indulging in some of our favorite treats in moderation is always allowed!

I am proud to be in my 40s and to embrace the changes that come with aging. As a face yoga teacher, I know that it's not about trying to look like we're in our 20s again, but rather about feeling confident and beautiful at every age. My goal is to help you look and feel like the best version of yourself, no matter what your age.

So let's make face yoga a daily habit, and watch our skin glow from the inside out. Together, we can empower ourselves and others to lead happy, healthy, and confident lives.
